Because it's nearly time to make them, I thought you might like to see an old blog of mine about making lavender bottles:
You need 17 stalks of freshly picked lavender
40 ins of 1/4 ins wide baby ribbon
2ft of sewing cotton
Take 17 long stalks of freshly picked lavender
Tie them together with cotton just below the flower heads. Wind the cotton around the flower heads a bit to hold everything together.
Bend stalks up, one at a time to form a cage around the flower heads. This should make a cage like bottle containing the flowers about 3 1/2 inches tall
Cut a piece of baby ribbon about 29 inches long. Secure it at the base of the bottle, then weave it through the stems, in, out and around, until you get to the top. Tie it off.
Wind the remaining ribbon around the top and tie it in a bow.
